TOM BREVOORT

  • DragynWulf: Did you enjoy editing titles that have the Taskmaster in them?
  • Tom Brevoort: I don't know that I've ever edited a story that had the Taskmaster in it.
  • DragynWulf: Is the Taskmaster a favorite character of yours?
  • Tom Brevoort: I don't know that I'd qualify him as a particular favorite, but I like the character, yes.
  • DragynWulf: I noticed the character called Deathmaster in AVATARS: COVENANT OF THE SHIELD. Was this suppose to be that worlds version of the Taskmaster?
  • Tom Brevoort: Afraid not.
  • DragynWulf: Do you have any plans for the Taskmaster in the year 2001?
  • Tom Brevoort: Actually, yes! Keep reading...
  • DragynWulf: Any chance of a heads up as to which titles he will be appearing in?
  • Tom Brevoort: Can't give out a specific heads-up, but he did start out as an Avengers villain...
  • DragynWulf: If you were to have some unknown information on the Taskmaster told in one of the comics you edit, what would it be and what comic would it be in? (example: His mother's name or exactly what he did as a child growing up with Photographic Reflexes)
  • Tom Brevoort: If I were going to do such a thing, I'd do it in the pages of the comics--that's where such information belongs, and appearing there is what makes it canonal, rather than opinion.
  • DragynWulf: Is there any chance to have it explained as to why the Taskmaster has had so many different looking faces (a skeleton face in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN and two different faces in SIREN and DAREDEVIL)?
  • Tom Brevoort: I expect that all three of those faces were disguises or put-ons. Taskmaster is one of those characters whom I think is better off if we don't know too much about him. So I expect we've never seen his real face, and I'd try to keep it that way. Likewise, I expect the civilian name he was given in DEADPOOL is also a sham.
