    Hawkeye:
"I've been known to give a guy a break. After all, I'm the lunkhead who began his career as a super-villain by going toe-to-toe with Iron Man.
Sheesh, arrows vs. a suit of armor ... what was I thinkin'? Anyway, the Avengers and the others gave good ol' Hawkeye a second chance and I actually ended up fighting alongside Shellhead instead of against him. Much easier on my jaw, believe me.
So I figure I owe the next generation of black sheep a chance to join the angels, right? Well, tell that to the bad guys. Yeah, the first group of Thunderbolts was reasonably easy to guide. They had already revolted against Baron Zemo before I got there. But the second wave of baddies we encountered was something else.
See, after leading the original T-Bolts to respectability, I set my sights on converting another gang. We went after a string of underachievers - the Wrecker, and Whirlwind, for example - and offered them a second chance at life. Thing is, they weren't interested in being good. Which was where the Ringmaster came in handy.
My new pal Maynard Tibold can wipe your mind clean, or as I like to put it, "rehabilitate". The way I figure it, losers like Stiltman are never going to amount to much, so why not force them to see the light and do some good with their abilities? And who says bad people deserve free will anyway?
But there're storm clouds a brewin' for the Thunderbolts. Maynard keeps tryin' to make Absorbing Man's girl his love slave, the Clown keeps gettin' on everybody's nerves, and don't even get me started on that frog Batroc.
And on top of all that, I'm begining to see signs that Ringmaster's hypnosis is breaking down. What if Maynard decides to take over the group himself?
Yeah, I've been known to give a guy a break. 'Cept now I think I'm the one that's gonna get broken!"
